Northern Ont. suspect charged with sex assault of 16-year-old in 2025

A 19-year-old from Englehart has been charged with sexual assault involving a 16-year-old victim in October 2025.

Ontario Provincial Police said the assault took place in Englehart and was reported to them April 2 of this year. The case was investigated by the Temiskaming OPP crime unit.

The suspect has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

“The OPP remains committed to investigating incidents of sexual violence thoroughly and supporting victims throughout the judicial process,” police said.
