Northern Ont. drug bust nets $90K in drugs, 4 charged

Four people are facing multiple charges after police executed a drug search warrant at a Kirkland Lake residence on Thursday.

The investigation led to the seizure of suspected drugs with an estimated street value of more than $90,000, along with thousands in cash.

Coordinated police effort

On September 4, 2025, Ontario Provincial Police members from various teams – including the canine unit and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a home on Wishman Street. The operation was conducted with assistance from the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service.

“As a result of the search, officers seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, methamphetamine tablets, lorazepam tablets and clonazepam tablets,” police stated.

In addition to the drugs, investigators recovered approximately $11,700 in cash, digital scales, ammunition, and cellular phones.

A total of 21 charges

As a result of the investigation, four individuals now face charges.

A 31-year-old man from Kirkland Lake and a 41-year-old woman from Kirkland Lake were charged along with a 40-year-old woman from Rouyn-Noranda, Que., and a 22-year-old woman from Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez, Que.

Each of the four accused faces four or more drug trafficking-related charges. The local man faces additional charges for resisting a peace officer, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a release order.

All four accused were remanded into custody pending a court appearance on Friday.
