North Bay police release age-adjusted sketch of man missing since 2010

North Bay police released an age-progressed image of Glen Wesley, who went missing 16 years after leaving a mental hospital on a short-term pass.

Police in North Bay have released an updated sketch of Glen Warren Neil Wesley, who was 28 years old when he disappeared Sept. 15, 2010.

The sketch aims to represent what Wesley could look like almost 16 years after he was last seen.

He was a patient at the Northeast Mental Health Hospital and was given a short-term pass to leave the facility on the day he vanished.

“At the time, hospital staff believed he may have gone to North Bay’s downtown core,” police said in a news release April 13.

“After he failed to return later that day, hospital staff contacted (police). Despite extensive investigation, all efforts to locate Glen have been unsuccessful.”

There have been several unconfirmed sightings in Cochrane, Timmins and New Liskeard.

Still an open case

When he disappeared, he was described as 6-foot-2, 300 pounds with a heavy build. He is an Indigenous man with brown eyes, black hair and had a scar on his left wrist.

“The disappearance of Glen continues to deeply affect his family, our service, and the entire community,” acting deputy police chief Jeff Warner is quoted as saying in the news release.

“While an age-progression image is not an exact representation, it is a valuable investigative tool that helps us show what Glen may look like today. We hope this image will prompt someone to come forward, because even the smallest detail can make a critical difference in progressing this investigation.”

The sketch was created by Ontario Provincial Police forensic identification support services.
