Police in North Bay say a joint investigation into child sexual abuse and exploitation material led to the arrest of a 51-year-old local man on Oct. 14. Brantford and North Bay Police Services collaborated in the investigation and are partners in the provincial strategy to combat child sexual abuse and exploitation material, police said in a release Nov. 4. “We have access to the tools, resources and partnerships needed to investigate these offences and hold offenders accountable, no matter where they are located,” said Insp. Scott McFarlane. A North Bay man has been charged with possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material and imports, distributes, sells or possesses for the purpose of distribution or sale. The accused was remanded into custody with a future court date of Nov. 18. Police ask anyone with information to assist in the investigation or protect a child to contact police at 705-472-1234.
