Former Timmins resident wins $111K in hospital 50/50 draw

Renee Graf of Toronto, but formerly of Timmins, won $111,782 in the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation’s June 50/50 draw.

“When we called Renee, she picked up almost right away and as soon as we said who was calling, she figured it was about the 50/50,” the Foundation said on social media.

“We shared the news with her and she was thrilled. Her reaction was pure excitement.”

Originally from Timmins, Graf said she is thrilled to support her hometown, adding she has many fond memories of growing up in Timmins.

“Renee still has friends in the area, including some who work in health care,” the Foundation said.

“She recognizes that the government funding is not enough to cover all the needs of health care facilities and feels that the lottery is a fantastic way of generating additional money for the hospital.”

July sales are open with lots of great prizes. The jackpot is currently more than $42,000.
