A woman from Elliot Lake, Ont., is celebrating a major lottery win after scratching out a $75,000 prize on an instant game ticket. Donna G. struck it rich playing Instant Lucky Cats (Game #2553), a $3 lottery scratch ticket with odds of winning any prize at 1 in 3.53. Players scratch games 1 to 12 and the bonus section to uncover three identical symbols in the same game to win the corresponding prize for that section or uncover a ‘cat symbol’ to win $25. Donna, 73, told OLG that she has playing the lottery for more than 50 years. “I had just adopted a cat a few months before this win – maybe he’s the reason I won,” she said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. Donna said she uncovered her big win while scratching her ticket at home and first shared the news with her boyfriend and sister. “My sister was very surprised and happy for me,” she said. The retiree said she plans to share her winnings with family and enjoy some well-deserved travel, adding that she would love to visit Newfoundland. The winning ticket was purchased at Foodland on Hillside Drive South in Elliot Lake, OLG confirmed.
