Canada Strong Pass offers free child admission to Science North this Holiday

Canada Strong Pass returns for the Holidays, offering national museum discounts for youth until Jan. 15. Parks Canada and VIA Rail are also participating.

Young visitors will get free and discounted access to two of northern Ontario’s major science attractions this holiday season through a new federal initiative.

Science North and its sister site, Dynamic Earth, announced they will participate in the Canada Strong Pass program from Dec. 12 to Jan. 15.

The offer provides free general admission for all visitors under 18 and a 50 per cent discount for those aged 18 to 24.

Program aims to spark curiosity

The initiative is supported by the Government of Canada and aims to lower financial barriers for families and young adults.

“We’re proud to make science even more accessible for young people this holiday season,” said Ashley Larose, CEO of Science North.

“The Canada Strong Pass helps families experience Science North and Dynamic Earth together in a way that sparks curiosity and creates lasting memories.”

Tickets under the program must be ordered online or in-person and cover general admission to both sites and the underground tour at Dynamic Earth only.

Minister highlights seasonal tourism

Ontario’s tourism minister endorsed the program as part of the province’s seasonal offerings.

“The holiday season is the perfect time to connect with family and friends while enjoying Ontario’s festive indoor and outdoor activities,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

“As Canada’s top travel destination, Ontario is home to some of our nation’s best cultural treasures and tourism experiences. With free and discounted admission for youth and young adults at our world-class museums and attractions like Science North and Dynamic Earth, there’s no better opportunity to explore our unique province with your loved ones.”

How to access the pass

Officials say free and discounted tickets will be available to order online or in-person at the attractions’ box offices.
