NEW GLASGOW, N.S. - The mother of a 19-year-old Nova Scotia woman who's been missing for more than three weeks is asking for the public's help in finding her daughter.

Marjorie Kirwan spoke briefly at a news conference on Tuesday, calling her daughter Amber Kirwan a sweet, innocent person.

"We want the public to know what kind of a daughter Amber is. ... She's not only beautiful on the outside, she's beautiful on the inside," said Kirwan as she sat beside her husband Donald.

Kirwan made a plea for anyone with information about Amber to come forward, saying it didn't matter how insignificant it seemed.

"Come forward and let the police decide if the information is relevant to the investigation," she said.

Amber Kirwan was last seen Oct. 9 leaving a bar in New Glasgow after spending an evening with friends.

New Glasgow police and the RCMP have launched numerous ground searches and sent divers into the Pictou County area.

Const. Ken MacDonald of New Glasgow police said there has been no sign of the young woman.

He said items that have been found are being processed by forensic experts to determine if they are related to Amber's disappearance

Police have released a surveillance camera video showing her leaving Dooly's bar in New Glasgow in the early morning of Oct. 9. The grainy footage shows her walking away from the bar alone sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. as a crowd gathers outside and a police car drives by.
