NEW GLASGOW, N.S. - An extensive search Sunday by ground crews and a police dive team failed to turn up any sign of a missing Nova Scotia teenager.

Nineteen-year-old Amber Kirwan was last seen outside a New Glasgow bar one week ago.

New Glasgow Police Const. Ken MacDonald says RCMP divers searched an area near Pictou Landing, while ground crews and a police canine unit scoured a wooded area near Scotsburn.

MacDonald says searchers have been acting on information from the public in an attempt to gather evidence that is possibly related to the case.

Searches have also been conducted in New Glasgow, Trenton and the Hillside area, just outside Trenton, while rescue boats have combed the East River.

MacDonald says the search was stood down at dusk and was expected to resume on Monday.
