A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being hit by a train in Dorval in Montreal’s West Island. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 3:15 a.m. Thursday. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the victim on the ground. “He was unconscious and seriously injured,” said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “He was then transported to hospital.” She adds that he remains in critical condition. “According to the first information that we have, the man was struck while lying on the ground between the fence and the railroad tracks,” Chèvrefils notes. “Everything indicates that this was an accident.” The investigation is ongoing.
