Man arrested after Montreal shooting injures 1

A man, 29, was shot in Montreal's Plateau neighbourhood and another man, 22, was arrested.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after a shooting at an apartment building in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough on Tuesday afternoon.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 3:30 p.m. about the incident on Sherbrooke Street near Saint-Dominique Street.

When officers arrived on site, they located the victim, a 29-year-old man.

He was transported to hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

Police, who located at least one projectile impact in the home, say witnesses explained that the shooting occurred while several people were present.

The 22-year-old man was arrested and is expected to meet with investigators.

The investigation is ongoing.
