Ville-Marie Tunnel exit closures begin on Wednesday

Montreal drivers using the Ville-Marie Tunnel should know that access ramps to and from the tunnel will be closed for over two weeks.

The Quebec Transport Ministry (MTQ) said that closures will be in effect in both the westbound and eastbound directions.

Westbound

• From Wednesday at midnight to Friday, Nov. 20, at Exit 5, Mansfield Street will be completely closed to allow for road resurfacing and asphalting work. The lanes heading towards the Champlain Bridge will remain open.

Eastbound

• From Thursday at 10:30 p.m. to Nov. 11 at 5 a.m., the entrances from de la Cathédrale Street and Notre-Dame Street West, as well as from Robert-Bourassa Boulevard, will be closed for maintenance and inspection work on a water main.

Closures will take place on the weekend as well, and will be announced soon. Detours will be in place.

“The Ministry advises road users to allow extra time to reach their destination,” the MTQ said.

All road closures could be postponed, extended or cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or operational constraints.
