Teen boy arrested for killing of 19-year-old in Terrebonne park

A 16-year-old boy from Terrebonne, Que. was arrested in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old man on Oct. 3, 2025.

Quebec provincial police (SQ), in cooperation with local police, arrested a teenager in connection with the killing of another teen at a park in Terrebonne on Friday.

The SQ said in a news release that a 16-year-old from Terrebonne was arrested on Thursday and is being interviewed by investigators.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Laval on Friday to face a murder charge.

On Oct. 3 (Friday) at around 9 p.m. Terrebonne/Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines/Bois-des-Filion police responded to Angora Park, where a 19-year-old man from Saint-Eustache was found with serious injuries after an altercation with several people.

“He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” the SQ said. “Immediately after the incident, several young people who were present were interviewed.”

Alleged links to Marketplace robberies

Terrebonne police were searching for the teen suspect, who had an arrest warrant for “numerous thefts and frauds related to online purchases.”

“Among other things, several victims had their money stolen when they went to pick up items for sale advertised on the Marketplace platform, such as mobile phones,” the SQ said.

Police remind those purchasing or exchanging items online to investigate the seller before continuing the transaction.

In addition, police recommend the following:

• Verify the image of the item using search engines.
• Meet with the seller in person to identify them and confirm the availability of the item.
• Choose a public, safe location and bring someone with you.

There are safe trading zones listed on most local police sites. The Montreal police department has 18 such zones listed.
