Security guard suspended in air after coat gets stuck in elevator door after Habs game

A security guard at the Bell Centre found himself in a precarious and potentially dangerous situation after the Montreal Canadiens lost to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night.

According to emergency services and the team, the 60-year-old man was lifted about 15 feet in the air when his coat got caught in the garage door lift system that provides access to the Habs players’ indoor parking lot.

Emergency services told Noovo Info that Montreal firefighters (SIM) responded to the scene to help the man, who refused transport to the hospital.

Several Habs players also witnessed the scene.
