SAAQclic fiasco: Karl Malenfant files lawsuit to have Gallant report withdrawn

The former head of digital transformation at the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), Karl Malenfant, is turning to the courts to seek the “overturning” of the Gallant Commission’s report and its recommendations regarding the SAAQclic fiasco.

Malenfant, who oversaw the development of the SAAQclic platform, filed a lawsuit of more than 40 pages in Superior Court in which he “cites critical errors that marred both the commission’s proceedings and the report’s conclusions.”

He also alleges that “several factual conclusions in the report are based on unreasonable inferences.”

The lawsuit targets Justice Denis Gallant and the public inquiry he led into the failures of the SAAQ’s IT modernization project. The lawsuit was filed in court in Montreal one month after the commission’s report was released.
