Michel Leblanc, former president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Montreal (CCMM), will run for the Quebec Liberal Party (QLP) in the Marguerite-Bourgeoys riding. The news, first reported by Radio-Canada, was confirmed by The Canadian Press. Michel Leblanc’s candidacy will be officially announced on Wednesday, and is considered a major coup for Charles Milliard’s Liberals. Leblanc served at the CCMM from 2009 to 2025. The Marguerite-Bourgeoys riding, located in Montreal, is a Liberal stronghold. The riding has been red since its creation in 1966. The current member for Marguerite-Bourgeoys, Frédéric Beauchemin, will run again in another riding: Brome-Missisquoi in the Eastern Townships. With the election fast approaching, political parties are stepping up their candidate announcements.
