Longueuil police (SPAL) are looking for a suspect after a woman in her 40s was assaulted near the Longueuil metro station. According to the SPAL, officers were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. The woman was assaulted by a man in his 30s and suffered injuries to her upper body and face. She was transported to hospital. Her life is not in danger. The suspect fled on foot and is still at large. SPAL spokesperson Melanie Mercille said both the suspect and victim were possibly experiencing homelessness. It’s unclear if the two already knew each other. Police say the assault was an isolated incident. The SPAL is asking anyone with information to contact police. The crime scene was lifted and the investigation is ongoing.
