Police investigating fatal collision that killed teen in Vaudreuil-Dorion

A teenage girl died after she was struck by a vehicle Friday night in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in the Montérégie.

Emergency services were called around 8:30 p.m. to the crash on Boulevard de la Gare.

“She was a minor from Vaudreuil-Dorion. Her death was unfortunately confirmed at the scene,” said Sgt. Frédéric Deshaies, a spokesperson for provincial police (Sûreté du Québec - SQ).

“A specialist in collision reconstruction was sent to the scene to conduct a complete analysis in order to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding this sad event,” he said.

The SQ spokesperson said he could not comment on the cause of the crash so as not to interfere with the ongoing investigation.

No additional information was available about the driver of the vehicle involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
