Montreal police reports the 10th homicide of 2025

Montreal police (SPVM) reports the death of a 54-year-old man who had been seriously injured on Monday.

This marks the tenth murder on the territory in 2025, according to the SPVM.

On April 21, Montreal police were called to the area near the intersection of Parc Avenue and Milton Street around 1:30 p.m.

The victim was found on the ground, bleeding heavily, the SPVM says.

He was then transported to a hospital in critical condition.

A few hours after the incident, a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged by authorities.

There was not “necessarily” a weapon involved, according to SPVM officer Manuel Couture.

On Friday, the SPVM announced it was investigating the 11th homicide of the year.

Since the Monday incident occurred first, the sequential number 10 had been assigned in advance a few days earlier, while the person was already presumed dead but not officially declared so, explains Couture.
