Manon Massé to end political career after 2026 election

A chapter is closing in Québec solidaire’s history. Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques MNA Manon Massé will leave political life after the next provincial election in 2026.

“It’s been 12 years that I’ve had the pride and honour of representing the people of Sainte-Marie–Saint-Jacques at the National Assembly. Twelve years, three full mandates and a leaders’ debate during which I had the privilege of carrying Québec solidaire’s feminist, environmental, inclusive and sovereigntist values,” she said in a statement Monday.

The former co-spokesperson will remain a Québec solidaire MNA until the end of her current term.

“I owe it to the people who have trusted me since 2014, but also to all progressives who believe in Québec solidaire,” she said.

Massé also said she remains confident “that one day, Québec solidaire will take power.”
