The First of January is a statutory holiday in Quebec, and many businesses and offices will be closed.

• Access Montreal offices
• Ecocentres
• Banks
• Canada Post
• Libraries
• Schools
• Shopping malls
• SAQ and SQDC locations
• Large grocery chains
• Permit counters are closed until Jan. 2.
• Municipal court is closed until Jan. 4.

Open

• The Espace pour la Vie centres - Biodome, Insectarium, Botanical Gardens, Planetarium, Biosphere
• Pharmacies
• Gas stations and depanneurs

Altered hours

• Public transportation
• Culture and sports facilities and community centres’ hours vary depending on the borough. Check schedules before going.
• Collection schedules will be adjusted to Jan. 2 in most boroughs if they fall on Jan. 1. Consult your borough for more information.
