Content creator Farnell Morisset will be a Liberal candidate in the upcoming provincial election. He aims to win the Taschereau riding in Quebec City, currently held by Québec solidaire candidate Etienne Grandmont. Liberal leader Charles Milliard made the announcement in a TikTok video featuring Morisset. “I’m really proud to be able to run to defend the rights and freedoms of all Quebecers. To defend them with an economy that works for everyone, that’s accessible to everyone, and to be able to pass that on to future generations,” said Morisset, who has more than 119,000 followers on the platform. Morisset is known to the public for the educational videos he has been posting on social media since 2021. He also served as campaign manager and financial agent for federal Liberal MP Joël Lightbound during the 2015 and 2019 elections. “Mr. Morisset has accumulated more than a decade of professional experience in Quebec and abroad, first as an international business development engineer for a company in the Quebec Technology Park, then, for seven years, as a lawyer specializing in mergers and acquisitions and global investment funds at a major business law firm in New York,” the Quebec Liberal Party (PLQ) said in a press release late Tuesday afternoon. He also holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics. According to the Qc125 poll aggregator, the Taschereau riding is not a sure win for the Liberals. Québec solidaire and the Parti Québécois are neck and neck, while the PLQ trails in third place with 19 per cent of projected voting intentions.
