CF Montreal trades its first pick, third overall, in the SuperDraft

CF Montreal traded its first pick in the upcoming Major League Soccer SuperDraft to FC Dallas, the team announced Tuesday morning.

In addition, the Montreal team traded its third-round pick, 66th overall, previously acquired from Toronto FC, to the Texans. The transaction, completed on July 3, gave Toronto priority rights in the SuperDraft for midfielder Malik Henry.

In return, the Bleu-blanc-noir received $350,000 in general allocation money (GAM), as well as a second-round pick, 46th overall, in the upcoming Garber circuit auction, which will take place on Dec. 18.

The trade stipulates that CF Montreal will receive $175,000 in guaranteed GAM in 2026 and $175,000 in guaranteed GAM in 2027.

CF Montreal now has two picks in the upcoming MLS draft: 46th overall in the second round and 63rd overall in the third round.
