Arson squad investigating fire at bar in LaSalle

The Montreal police (SPVM) arson squad is investigating a fire at a bar and residence in LaSalle.

Police say that a 911 call at around 4:50 a.m. reported the beginning of a fire on the Voodoo Bar terrasse on Dollard Avenue near Lithuania Street.

Firefighters arrived on scene and contained the fire. Damage to the bar and attached residence is minor, police said.

Incendiary material was found on the scene, and the file has been transferred to the SPVM’s arson squad.

No one was injured, and no arrests have been made.

Investigators are on the scene and reviewing nearby surveillance camera footage.
