First full day of summer brings cooler temperatures, sunshine later

It’s officially a summer with the summer solstice over the weekend, said CTV News London meteorologist Julie Atchison,

Today, the first full day of summer, although temperatures on the cooler side across the area.

“They’ll start to come up this afternoon as the cloud cover starts to clear and lots of sunshine to carry us through the latter half of the day,” said Atchison.

High pressure builds in for Tuesday and an absolutely beautiful day setting up across the southern Ontario heading into Wednesday.

“We do have the chance for some rainfall arriving to the area by Wednesday late afternoon. So your forecast over the next few days, 23 degrees for your Tuesday, mainly sunny. A chance of showers developing as we head into Wednesday afternoon,” she added.

Thursday, we’ll see a 60 per cent chance of showers and 25 C and then conditions looking clear for the weekend with lots of sunshine and a nice summer-like feel.
