The Cookie Nook in London, Ont. is going viral for its “New York-style” eats and delicious treats. “I’ve always loved baking,” said Emily Sleegers owner of The Cookie Nook. “When I finished business school, I started working in an office and I was just so bored all the time so when the opportunity came to open up a storefront, I jumped on the opportunity.” Sleegers said instead of paid advertising, she spends time focusing on her businesses’ social media page. “With our social media we just try to have fun,” she said. “We’ve got a lot of young people who work here. We’re very collaborative and we like to have fun with it and see the reach.” Content creators have documented their experiences visiting the shop and trying out the cookies. “Overall, we get a lot of really good feedback on the taste of our cookies,” said Sleegers. “People come in and they say wow that’s the best cook they’ve ever had.” The Cookie Nook features unique flavors like the Cookie Monster. “It is blue, full of Oreos and chocolate chips,” said Sleegers. “It is definitely a favorite for the kids out there.” Sleegers said they will soon be debuting a new rose cookie.
