Environment Canada says showers and embedded thunderstorms are continuing across the London area Monday, with total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres expected through the morning. The weather agency says some communities could receive more than 50 millimetres of rain, particularly in areas affected by thunderstorms. Rainfall warnings may be issued if conditions warrant. Forecasters are warning that water is likely to pool on roads and in low-lying areas, creating potentially hazardous travel conditions. Rain is expected to ease later this afternoon, with a few lingering showers giving way to a mix of sun and cloud. An additional 10 to 15 millimetres of rain is possible, along with a continued risk of thunderstorms. The high is expected to reach 27 C, with a humidex of 32. Partly cloudy skies are forecast overnight with a low of 21 C. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Tuesday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a 60 per cent chance of afternoon showers. There is also a risk of thunderstorms, with temperatures climbing to 29 C and a humidex of 37. Through the rest of the week, the forecasts call for a mix of sun and cloud with a chance of showers Wednesday, cloudy skies with a chance of showers Thursday, and a mix of sun and cloud Friday. High temperatures are expected to range from 26 C to 30 C.
