‘Shelter in place’ lifted following standoff in Tillsonburg

OPP in Tillsonburg reported an increased police presence in the east part of the town on Tuesday for a standoff.

Residents on Concession Street east between Maple Lane and Tillson Avenue were asked to ‘shelter in place.’

The incident ended shortly after 6 p.m. when a man surrendered without incident.

Police put the man in handcuffs, taking him to an ambulance to be taken to hospital.
