A search warrant used in Thames Centre has led to several charges related to drugs and firearms. On Jan. 28, police used a search warrant at an address on Minnie Street in Dorchester. According to police, Community Street Crime Unit officers seized illicit drugs, suspected to be cocaine, methamphetamine, oxycodone and hydromorphone, as well as a loaded handgun, ammunition and a large amount of Canadian currency. A 42-year-old woman from Dorchester is facing 11 charges and a 38-year-old woman from Dorchester is facing 10 charges. Charges range from possession of prohibited firearm with ammo, to unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, and possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. Both suspects were held for bail and police are still looking for a third person who is now wanted on a warrant.
