Rain and mild temperatures will continue across southern Ontario through Wednesday afternoon before a cold front moves through the region overnight, bringing cooler conditions for the rest of the week, according to CTV News London meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Scattered showers will linger through the late afternoon and into the evening, but we’ll stay on the mild side,” Atchison said. “The cold front comes through tonight, early tomorrow.” Atchison said a large area of low pressure tracking toward northern Ontario is drawing moisture into the region ahead of the front, resulting in periods of rain through the day. Cloudy skies will remain in place into Thursday morning, with a 40 per cent chance of showers through the day. Despite the arrival of cooler air, temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal norms. “It will be a bit cooler, but still above normal at 13 degrees on Thursday,” Atchison said. Mainly cloudy skies are forecast for Friday, while another round of showers is expected Saturday. Temperatures will continue to cool through the weekend, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 7 C expected Sunday. The outlook improves early next week, with daytime highs returning to the double digits Monday through Wednesday.
