The province is investing tens of millions of dollars for clean energy projects, following an announcement in Sarnia, Ont. on Friday. The provincial government is doubling its investment in the Hydrogen Innovation Fund by putting $30 million toward projects boosting clean energy. The announcement was made Friday in Sarnia and attended by the Associate Minister of Energy-Intensive Industries Sam Oosterhoff. He called the investment a strategic move to strengthen Ontario’s energy independence, while also making the province a world leader in hydrogen technology. The money is supposed to support new uses for low-carbon hydrogen, integrate hydrogen into Ontario’s power grid, and connect energy producers with users in manufacturing and heavy transport sectors.
