Funding for new schools and school expansions in the region has been announced. Education Minister Paul Calandra was in Kilworth on Tuesday, saying more than 29,000 students will benefit from new and modern classrooms. “Student success starts with having the right environment to learn,” Calandra said. “We’re building the schools students need, and we’re making sure they get built quickly and on schedule.” As part of a $1.6-billion provincial investment, the London area will receive $285 million to build seven new schools and expand two existing schools. According to the province, the projects will provide more than 5,300 student spaces and 362 licensed child-care spaces for local families.
