Prison sentence given to former London, Ont. nurse convicted of sexual assault involving minors

Justice Patricia Moore handed down a sentence of seven years and two months to a former London nurse convicted of a rash of sex-related offences involving two female minors.

The 56-year-old man showed little or no emotion as he was led away from the courtroom after being sentenced on Monday.

He had been found guilty on more than a half dozen charges including sexual assault and administering an overpowering drug.

The assaults took place between 2012 and 2016 and involved minors that were known to the accused.

Moore told the court how the victims have been devastated by the offences.

In the case of one victim impact statement Moore read, “She blames herself as well as the accused for what happened and felt ashamed.”

The judge continued, “She became angry and talked about wanting to kill herself.”

A ban on publication was placed on any evidence or information that may identify the victims in the case.

The accused is also ordered to be on the sex offender registry for life.
