One dead following crash on Base Line

A woman has died following a crash just north of Clinton.

On Saturday around 2 p.m., emergency services were called with a report of a two-vehicle collision on Base Line between Lobb Road and Dutch Line. A van and a pickup truck were involved, police said.

All four people – a man, woman, and two children – in the van were taken to hospital. A 38-year-old Exeter woman was later pronounced dead. The man is still in hospital with serious injuries. The children only sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

OPP continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information or video footage is asked to contact Huron County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report it to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The road was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.
