Nearly one year after raising more than $605,000 for local charities, the Boots and Hearts Barn Burner Charity Hockey Game is set to return to Barrie, with tickets officially going on sale for the 2026 event. The annual fundraiser returns to Sadlon Arena on Aug. 6, bringing together professional hockey players, community members, country music artists and special guests for an evening of entertainment in support of local charities. Host and chair Barrie Mayor Alex Nuttall officially launched this year’s event during a press conference Monday. Player rosters are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Since its inception, the Barn Burner has raised nearly $3 million for local causes, like the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Foundation, the John Tavares Foundation, PIE Education and Rotary initiatives. Last year’s event alone generated more than $605,000. “The Boots and Hearts Barn Burner has become a signature event for our community, bringing people together through sport and music to support causes that truly make a difference,” Mayor Nuttall said. The charity game is powered by Boots and Hearts Music Festival, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. Republic Live founding partner Eva Dunford said supporting the community remains a key part of the festival’s mission. “We are proud to build on that momentum in 2026 and look forward to another unforgettable night in support of local organizations that serve our residents every day,” Dunford said. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m., and puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Sadlon Arena. The Barn Burner roster historically includes 20 professional hockey players from the NHL, PWHL, Team Canada and the OHL. Tickets are available now through TicketPro.
