North Huron resident succumbs to injuries sustained in 2-vehicle collision

An 84-year-old resident of Huron County has died of their injuries following a two-vehicle crash earlier this month.

As previously reported, just before 9 a.m. on Feb. 17, police, fire crews and paramedic services responded to North Line just north of Hydro Line Road in Huron East for a report of a head-on crash.

Upon arrival, emergency services located a pickup truck and a passenger car, both heavily damaged.

Police say the elderly sedan driver was seriously injured and was transported by ambulance to a London hospital.

A passenger in the sedan was treated for minor injuries, while the driver of the pickup truck was also treated for minor injuries.

In an update Thursday, police say on Feb. 20 the driver of the involved sedan succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased is an 84-year-old resident of North Huron.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
