Trinket Trade Boxes are gaining popularity across the globe. Similar to ‘Little Free Libraries,’ the boxes are placed in neighborhoods by residents and encourage people walking by to trade small toys. London’s first ‘Trinket Trade Box’ is in the southeast end of the city near Turner Crescent and Evans Bloulevard. “I like giving new life to second hand items,” said the creator of the ‘519 Trinket Trade’ box, who wished to remain anonymous. “Within an hour of posting it to social media there was literally a lineup.” ‘Trinket Traders’ were travelling across southwestern Ontario to visit the new hot spot. “We had them all the way from Windsor, Brantford, Guelph,” said the creator. “As they stand out there in line we’ve noticed they’re sparking conversations and really getting to know each other.”
