London man found guilty of manslaughter in death of 16 year old

CTV London’s Nick Paparella brings the jury’s verdict in manslaughter case of Treyton Hoffman – accused in the death of Malik McDonnell-Mills in 2023.

After deliberating for less than four hours, a London jury found 20-year-old Treyton Hoffman guilty of manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of Malik McDonnell-Mills.

Throughout the two and a half week trial, Crown Attorney Roger Dietrich argued that even though Hoffman didn’t actually stab the 16-year-old victim, he was a party to the offence by chasing him and using pepper spray.

It was on August 9, 2023, that a group of young people had gathered and were consuming alcohol and marijuana.

McDonnell-Mills would be attacked that night suffering a fatal stab wound to the femoral artery.

Two others charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act still need to be dealt with before the courts in connection with the same stabbing death.

Hoffman remains free on bail until his sentencing hearing which is set for February 3.
