Ingersoll added to boil water advisory

Ingersoll has been added to the list of communities under a boil water advisory.

Three advisories are now in effect — all users of the Mount Elgin Municipal Water System , all users of the Ingersoll Municipal Water System, and residents in the northeast corner of Plattsville.

• Boil water advisory from Southwestern Public Health

According to Southwestern Public Health, the advisory is precautionary as the medical officer of health has been advised of water samples that may indicate the presence of bacteria in the water.

Those affected are notified by the County of Oxford and will also be notified when the advisory is lifted.

Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute

• Brushing teeth
• Washing raw foods
• Making ice
