Here comes Meryl Sweep? Help name one of the City of London’s street sweepers

Sweepers are hitting the streets of London after a long winter, and the city is asking for the public’s help in choosing the perfect name for one of them.

According to the city, voting is now open to name one of the city’s street sweepers as part of Public Works Week with the sweepers finally hitting the streets for spring cleaning.

The city is looking for the “perfect” name for one of their “hardest-working” street sweepers, and members of the public are asked to cast their vote for their favourite name.

Voting is open now until May 15 and you can vote via the City of London’s website.

Here are the 10 names to choose from:

• Kevin
• Sweep Caroline
• Meryl Sweep
• Sweepy McSweepy-Face
• Taylor Sweep
• Obi-wan Cleanobi
• Beeper the Sweeper
• The Dusty Knight
• Sir Sweeps A Lot

The winning name will be announced on May 23 at the Touch-a-Truck event, which will be held at the Adelaide Yard.
