Special weather statement over, unsettled week ahead with periodic showers and rising temperatures

Showers moving through the region Sunday evening are expected to taper off early, with skies remaining mostly cloudy and a lingering 40 per cent chance of additional precipitation before clearing overnight.

There is the risk of an early evening thunderstorm. North winds of 20 km/h, gusting to 40, are forecast to ease after midnight before shifting to the northwest and strengthening again toward morning. The overnight low is expected to dip to 9 C.

Monday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, with breezy northwest winds. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 21 C, with a UV index of 7, considered high. Skies will partially clear Monday night, with a low of 11 C.

Conditions remain somewhat unsettled into Tuesday, with a mix of sun and cloud and a 40 per cent chance of showers. The daytime high is expected to climb to 23 C. Cloud cover will increase Tuesday night, along with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a low of 13 C.

A wetter pattern is expected to take hold by Thursday, with showers and windy conditions throughout the day.
