New data from Stats Canada indicates crime is declining here in London and across Canada. According to the crime severity index, London saw a 6 per cent decline in crime severity in 2024. That index takes into account the quantity of calls to police, as well as the nature of the reported offences. Overall, non-violent offenses were down the most, such as theft, and breaking and entering. The most notable increase was seen in shoplifting.
