Crime down in London, Ont. and across the country

New data from Stats Canada indicates crime is declining here in London and across Canada.

According to the crime severity index, London saw a 6 per cent decline in crime severity in 2024.

That index takes into account the quantity of calls to police, as well as the nature of the reported offences.

Overall, non-violent offenses were down the most, such as theft, and breaking and entering.

The most notable increase was seen in shoplifting.
