Northwest winds are kicking up some cool temperatures in southern Ontario today, according to CTV News meteorologist Julie Atchison. “We’re about seven degrees below where we typically are for this time of year for our daytime highs. We’re hovering between 16 and 18 degrees in midwestern Ontario and London,” she said. “We are expecting those temperatures to come up a couple degrees this afternoon.” We started Wednesday off with some off-lake cloud cover and some very light rain. Atchison said this was coming downwind of Lake Huron. “We are seeing the cloud cover move out and we’re into full sunshine as we head into the late afternoon. High pressure will keep us clear overnight and temperatures cooling off will drop to 11 in London and temperatures along the shoreline of Lake Huron and [Lake] Erie 11 to 13 degrees,” she added. There is lots of sunshine in the forecast for tomorrow with a cool start to the day, the high 24 degrees. Sunshine is expected on Friday, and we’re back up to 26 Saturday with a nice mix of sun and cloud early in the day, but the chance of showers moving in Saturday evening.
