Woman wielding baseball bat wanted by Guelph Police

Guelph Police are looking for a woman who chased one person and hit another with a baseball bat.

The first incident happened just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

The victim told police a woman came up to her, near Gordon Street and Nottingham Street, and asked to borrow her phone.

“When the complainant declined, the other woman removed a green and black bat from her backpack and uttered a threat while briefly chasing her,” a media release said.

A man called 911 a short time later saying he had been hit with a baseball bat.

He was taken to hospital with a large bump on the back of his head.

Police said they are still investigating the two attacks. They did not share a description of the woman.
