Seven people arrested in Guelph drug bust

An investigation in Guelph has resulted in seven arrests, as well as the seizure of drugs, guns, knives, brass knuckles, bear spray and a conducted energy weapon.

Guelph Police said, this past spring, their Break Enter Auto Theft Unit began looking into a Cambridge man who they believed was trafficking drugs in both cities.

Earlier this month, officers carried out search warrants at three properties in Guelph and two in Cambridge. Three vehicles were also searched.

Police said they found approximately $28,000 worth of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and Oxycodone. Officers also seized various weapons, $5,800 in cash and approximately $20,000 worth of tools, bicycles and home appliances which were believed stolen.

Guelph Police said tactical units with the Waterloo Regional Police Service and Brantford Police Service assisted in the searches.

Four men and three women, from Guelph and Cambridge, face dozens of charges. While police did not share a full list, they included possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of prohibited weapons and possession of stolen property.
