A Guelph man is facing charges after police were told someone had spotted a man with a handgun in the downtown area. Just before 10 a.m. Thursday, the Guelph Police Service received a call about the man near a social service agency. When police arrived and arrested him, they found a black BB gun in a reusable shopping bag. The man was taken to a police station where officers said they uncovered $800 worth of fentanyl and almost $900 in cash. The 60-year-old man was charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of breaching court orders.
