The City of Guelph is addressing concerns about a creek near a off-leash dog park. Posts on social media warned owners to keep their dogs away from the water at Preservation Park, alleging dead fish had washed up in the creek. The city confirmed they received at least one complaint and sent out an environmental protection officer to check it out. They determined that someone had dumped baitfish into the water but said there was no concern about contamination or water quality. The city also noted that visitors to the dog park may notice barricades in the area in preparation for erosion control work.
