UPDATE: Stratford Police say Victoria Marland had an interaction with Ontario Provincial Police in early October 2026. “She was found to be in good health resulting in no concerns regarding her well-being at the time she was located,” they wrote in a media release on Oct. 5, 2026. The Stratford Police Service is asking for the public’s help locating a 37-year-old woman who has not been heard from since early March 2026. Investigators said there are no clear answers as to why Victoria Marland, a mother of two teenaged boys, left her home in Stratford or where she went, but their efforts are focused on bringing her home. Last sighting of Victoria Police said Victoria was briefly seen in the Kitchener-Waterloo area in May, where she had been in contact with healthcare practitioners at Grand River Hospital, as well as officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service. “Mental health was certainly a factor in what had led up to police involvement and hospital engagement prior to her disappearance,” explained Stratford Police Const. Darren Fischer. “There’s lots of supports that we were attempting to put into place. However, unfortunately, we weren’t able to get the engagement that we needed. And Victoria has disappeared since then.” CTV News reached out to the Waterloo Regional Health Network (WRHN) regarding Victoria’s last reported sighting at the hospital. “Due to privacy considerations, we are unable to comment on or confirm information related to specific patients, including whether an individual received care at one of our hospitals or the circumstances surrounding any visit,” WRHN’s statement said. “We encourage anyone with information that may assist in locating Victoria to contact police directly.” Victoria is described as a white woman, about 5’6” and a thin build, brown eyes and short blue hair. Police said she has the word “poet” tattooed on her shoulder and a pink flower tattooed on her inner bicep. Foul play not suspected Police said some of Victoria’s personal belongings and her vehicle were left behind. They think she left on her own, and foul play is not believed to have played a part in her disappearance. “We do think that she had just left on her own accord and is hopefully out there healthy and well somewhere. And her boys are waiting for her to come home,” said Fischer. “We don’t really have any idea as to what has drawn Victoria away from her home and her children.” Victoria’s description has also been entered into CPIC, the Canadian Police Information Centre, so officers across the country can be alerted if they encounter her. Investigators continue to seek leads Police have canvassed the neighbourhood around her Bay Street home and spoken with people who knew her. They have also put out requests for help with searches, but Fischer said investigators do not currently have enough information to identify a specific area where Victoria may be. “From all accounts, it sounds like she was kind of a homebody and would stay at home and would be kind of isolated from the rest of the community,” said Fischer. ‘Reunite her with her family’ Victoria’s two sons are still waiting for answers. Fischer said the teenagers have been supported by friends and their high school, as well as a family that is caring for them until their mother returns home. “They have a great circle of friends, and they’re connected really well with the high school that they attend,” he said. “They are staying with a loving family who’s been able to provide care.” Police are asking the public to familiarize themselves with Victoria’s photograph and physical description. Anyone who may have encountered her is urged to contact the Stratford Police Service at 519-271-4141, ext. 2, even if that information seems insignificant. “Without the public’s assistance, we typically can’t find missing people,” Fischer said. “It’s going to be from tips and information that come from individuals... that helps us find that person and reconnect them with their loved ones.” Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers. “I just want to say, thank you to everybody who’s willing and interested in helping us find Victoria, and to reunite with her family,” Fischer said.
