A woman who claimed she was assaulted in downtown Guelph has been charged for making a false report. The 20-year-old called 911 around 2:40 a.m. on June 13. Guelph Police said she not only reported an assault, but she also gave a detailed statement to investigators, which included a description of her alleged assailant. “As a result of the ongoing investigation, officers determined she made multiple false statements and was in fact the aggressor during the interaction, much of which was caught on video,” a media release said. The woman was arrested on Monday and charged with public mischief and assault.
