Guelph Police are investigating an armed vehicle theft. Investigators said the incident happened around 10:40 a.m. Thursday in a parking lot near Woolwich Street and Suffolk Street East. According to police, a stranger approached the victim and commented on their vehicle, then pulled out a knife and demanded the keys. The two struggled and the owner was pulled from the vehicle. The victim said the suspect got in the driver’s seat and drove away. Only minor injuries were reported. Police described the stolen vehicle as a dark green older-model sedan that was last seen going westbound on Suffolk Street, towards Norfolk Street. The suspect was described as Black man, approximately 5’8” tall, with a medium build and around 135 to 145 pounds. He also had black hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing brown construction boots, grey and black shorts, a white crewneck sweater and black bucket hat.
